Sewing machine in good working order
Walking foot
Free motion foot
Extension table to fit your machine (if you have one)
Sewing machine needles 80/12 Sharps 
Thread for Stitching Sampler - 450+/- yards good quality 50 or 60 wt cotton, # 30 or 
40 rayon or # 40,50,60 poly 
Thread for Practice Samples - any colour medium to dark cotton thread 50 or 60 wt.
50 - one (1") regular safety pins 
Blue water soluble marking pen, regular tip
Regular masking tape
Fabric sandwich consisting of top/batting/backing approximately 12" x 12" for checking thread tension

Please have the following materials precut: 
For practice sandwiches (kit contains 12 - 8.5" x 11" printed tops)
Twelve (12) - 9" x 12" pieces of muslin for backings 
Twelve (12) - 9" x 12" pieces of low loft batting

For Stitch Sampler - top, backing and binding 
1 yd of 42" wide light to medium, tone on tone or solid fabric. 
Chose a light coloured fabric that is transparent enough that you can easily trace through.
For top cut: 1 - 20" x 20" square
For backing cut: 1 - 22" x 22" square 
For batting cut: 1 - 21" x 21" square
